A few lines about Peter Wyspianski and SEOinPhiladelphia.com: who, what, where, when, how....

A Few Lines About me

While still living in London, I was getting ready for my move to Philadelphia, PA. Trying to not forget the hundreds of things I needed to do before I left London, I quickly realized I need to learn a lot about Philadelphia: search for a home, search for a local dry cleaner, search for my new favorite bars and so on…

Peter-Wyspianski-wyspa-PhiladelphiaFortunately, that’s what I’ve been doing for the last two years: SEARCHING (and getting paid to do it!) As an SEO Consultant in one of the premium London search marketing agencies,  I’ve been helping some of the largest UK websites to be easily found under the most popular search terms typed in Google, (including Shopping, Maps, News, Images) Yahoo!, and Bing etc.

About SEOinPhiladelphia.com

So in my quest for Philly info I have used these skills in my personal search. Then I had an idea: to start a website which will help me catalog and discuss these new places, services and businesses in Philly (I’m looking forward to your recommendations!). I will be trying to find examples (good and bad) of how local Philadelphia businesses are using search engine optimization and social media techniques to improve their visibility.

But most importantly SEO in Philadelphia is a project which aims to educate small businesses about the vast opportunities ethical search marketing has to offer.

The site also targets local SEO Specialists/Consultants who are interested in “seo evangelism” among local communities, fostering ethical search engine optimization.

seoinphiladelphia.com Goals

As it says on Avanish Kaushik’s blog:

If you ain’t got no goals, you ain’t got nothin’.

My Goals/KPIs are:

Obviously I would be aiming to engage readers with unique observations, and I will measure engagement by the number of legitimated emails and comments from readers.

Target for 2009:

  • 15 new comments per month
  • 5 new emails per month
  • number of feed subscriptions: 80 by the end of 2009

However the most important goal of this site is to meet people who are SEO professionals trying to find answers to some search marketing optimization questions.
